If you are a buyer, not a merchant

You messaged a shop and a Sahulatcart assistant replied. We are not the shop. For anything about your order — where it is, a refund, a wrong item, a price — contact the shop directly on the same WhatsApp chat. They can see the whole conversation and can take over from the assistant at any time.

To stop the assistant messaging you, reply STOP. To reach a human at the shop, just ask — the assistant will hand the conversation over rather than keep replying.

Merchants: WhatsApp opt-in rules

This is the part that gets business numbers restricted, so it is worth reading once properly. Meta requires that you have permission before you message anyone, and your number is scored on how recipients react to you.

You may message someone only if both are true

  1. They gave you their phone number, and
  2. They agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from your business — specifically, by name.

Valid ways to collect opt-in

  • A tick box on your website or checkout that names your business and WhatsApp
  • A customer messaging you first on WhatsApp
  • A signup form in your shop where the customer writes their number and agrees
  • A missed-call or SMS keyword flow the customer initiates

Not valid — these will get your number restricted

  • Numbers you bought, rented, scraped or exported from anywhere
  • Numbers from an old contact list where nobody agreed to WhatsApp
  • Opt-in for one thing used to send something else — order updates do not license promotions
  • Consent buried in terms nobody reads

Keep your evidence. If Meta questions your messaging, you need to be able to show when and how each person opted in. Keep a record — date, source, and what they agreed to. We cannot supply this for you, and we cannot reverse a restriction Meta applies.

Honouring opt-out

The assistant recognises STOP and similar instructions and records the opt-out automatically, so that number is not messaged again. But if someone asks you to stop by phone, in person, or on another channel, you must honour that too — mark them opted out in your portal.

Merchants: what you cannot sell

Meta's Commerce Policy prohibits a list of categories outright. Selling them through your connected number risks losing WhatsApp access entirely. The full list is in section 6 of the User Agreement, and includes firearms, drugs, tobacco and vaping, alcohol, prescription medicines, gambling, adult products, dating services, multi-level marketing, live animals, and counterfeit goods.

If you are not sure whether a product is allowed, ask us before you list it.

Merchants: keeping your number healthy

  • Reply to handovers. When the assistant hands a chat to you, answer it. Ignored customers block businesses, and blocks lower your quality rating.
  • Keep your catalogue accurate. The assistant answers from what you gave it. Out of date stock and prices create disputes.
  • Do not blast promotions. High-volume marketing to people who only ever asked about an order is the fastest route to a restricted number.
  • Keep your WhatsApp Business profile current — a real business name, a working contact method, and an accurate description. Meta requires this.
  • Watch your quality rating in WhatsApp Manager. If it drops to medium or low, slow down and look at what you sent.

Outages and incidents

If the assistant stops replying, check first whether Meta or WhatsApp is having a platform-wide issue — that accounts for most interruptions and is outside our control. If the problem is ours, email us and we will tell you what happened and when it will be fixed.

If a security incident affects your data, we will tell you without undue delay and explain what was affected and what we have done.
